History:
Built in less than 3,000 examples for Europe, the TR5 PI is one of the rarest Triumphs. It was a technical achievement of its time, thanks to the installation of a 6-cylinder engine in a TR4 A IRS chassis. The chassis number confirms that our TR5 was assembled in Belgium, like all left-hand drive examples built for Europe. This example is originally from France and its current owner has had it since 2013. It comes with a substantial file of invoices covering nearly 20 years. It has always been meticulously maintained both mechanically and aesthetically.

Condition:
General:
This car is in very good condition.

Exterior:
The bodywork is beautiful, the paint has been redone in its original color. The chrome is in very good condition and the wire wheels are impeccable. The alpaca soft top is new and was fitted by a professional upholsterer to ensure the best possible fit.

Interior:
The upholstery is in excellent condition, reflecting the care given to the car. The dashboard, with its wood panel and gauges, is also in very good condition. The three-spoke steering wheel is in perfect condition and the instruments are functional.

Mechanics:
The inline 6-cylinder engine offers a superb sound. It is generous in torque and provides a smooth, pleasant, and performant drive. The manual gearbox works well, with smooth gear changes. Overall, the car's road behavior is very healthy. While some TR5s have been modified with BOSCH injection, this one is still equipped with its original LUCAS injection system, which works wonderfully. The overdrive functions perfectly.
