Bmw Série 02 Préparée Vhrs 1969 / Manual

History:
This 2002 ti was delivered new in France. It was prepared for historic rallies in the 2000s, with an appreciable level of fine-tuning. Its current owner acquired it in 2017, but ultimately did not race it.

Condition:
General: This car is in beautiful condition.

Exterior: The bodywork is in good overall condition. The hood has been modified to fit with a quick-release system. The fenders have been widened to accommodate the larger wheels.
The body has been reinforced at the welds. It is structurally sound. The chrome bumpers have been retained and are now shiny.

Interior: The interior has been stripped of everything superfluous to lighten the car and optimize it for rallying. Safety accessories are in place, as detailed in the equipment list below. Significant electrical work has been carried out to make everything accessible and visible on the dashboard (switches, fuses, relays).
The interior is in fine racing condition.

Mechanics: The mechanics are in good working order. It is fed by two WEBER 45 DCOE carburetors. The Getrag reverse gearbox is a considerable asset. It's short enough to give better acceleration. The first gear is "down", so that 2 and 3 are opposite, which is ideal as these are the gears most frequently used in sporty driving. Roadholding is excellent, with well-tuned running gear. A hydraulic handbrake has been fitted to better engage the glide in tight hairpins or on slippery terrain. The 75% self-locking axle significantly enhances traction.
