History: The Alfa Romeo SZ, of which 1036 were produced, was the fruit of collaboration between Alfa Romeo and Zagato, where the car was assembled. Nicknamed ‘il mostro’ because of its bold and unique design, the SZ, short for ‘Sprint Zagato’, is a perfect reflection of Italian know-how and style.
This model is number 312. Having left the factory in 1992, the current owner is acquiring it in 2019.
Condition:
General: This SZ is in excellent presentable condition.
Exterior: The bodywork, mainly composite materials if not aluminium (roof) and carbon (wing), is in very good condition. The paintwork is well preserved and has a very nice shine. The wheels are also in excellent condition.
Interior: The cabin is also very well preserved. Everything is designed to ensure that the driver has all the information at his fingertips. The centre console and dashboard are in excellent condition, as is the beige leather upholstery, which is intact and not faded, offering optimum comfort and support. The on-board instrumentation is fully functional.
Mechanical: The SZ features optimum weight distribution, and the suspension and brakes from the 75 Turbo Evoluzione Group A guarantee very well-balanced roadholding. What's more, the vehicle is fitted with a hydraulic suspension system that increases ground clearance by 6 cm. The car has been regularly serviced. The owner is prepared to replace the timing belt and provide four new tyres for sale. The powertrain is in excellent condition, the engine revs up smoothly and the gears shift easily.
