Rover 800 (R17) : l’alternative anglaise
Au début des années 90, il existait encore quelques constructeurs généralistes en Angleterre. Certes, Vauxhall (aujourd’hui sous la coupe de PSA) ne produisait plus que des Opel rebadgées en conduite à droite, mais il restait encore Rover qui, avec l’aide de Honda, s’était un peu remise sur les rails. Au sommet de sa gamme, la vénérable marque au drakkar proposait la série 800, une grande berline au sang japonais mais au coeur anglais qui offrait une véritable alternative face aux allemandes plus austères, aux italiennes plus baroques et aux françaises plus atypiques. Retour sur cette grande berline un peu oubliée dans sa version R17.
