History: The SL (Sport Leicht) range was launched by Mercedes in 1954 with the sublime 300 SL (W198). Since then, the German firm has continued to produce different versions of this model. It was a commercial success, particularly in the United States. Our example is a 1983 3.8-litre R107 version from California.

Condition:

General: This 380SL has stood the test of time without suffering from the years and is in beautiful condition today.

Exterior: As you can see from the photos, the bodywork of this car is very attractive. The brown soft top is in good condition. There are no tears or holes. The hard top is the same colour as the body and will of course be sold with the car. The wheels are in good condition.

Interior: The beige interior matches the exterior colour perfectly. Some traces of the car's life can be seen, notably on the side of the driver's seat where there is pronounced wear. The woodwork on the dashboard and centre console is well preserved.

Powertrain: The V8 starts up very well, revs well and delivers all its power. Roadholding is beyond reproach.

Chassis and underbody: The underpinnings are very sound.
