History
At the top of the marque's range in the 1950s, examples of the Silver Wraith were rare and sought-after cars, but convertible versions were even more so.
This Silver Wraith chassis #LELW94 is one of only 5 in the world produced in this body style, with left-hand drive and an electrically operated soft top. It was delivered new with numerous options, including an automatic gearbox and, above all, power steering, which had just been fitted to this model.
This chassis is the second of the five produced and has a complete history:
- The car was sold new in Quebec to Mr H.J. O'Connell, who bought it for his wife.
- The car remained in Canada with the second owner, who had it restored in a specialised workshop in Florida.
- The third owner, Mr Robert Lee - a renowned US collector - acquired the car in 1989 and kept it in his private collection until 2015, when the current owner purchased the car.
- This Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith is owned by a renowned French collector who maintains the car with the utmost care.
