History
This Cobra is a replica built by the American manufacturer Aurora as a tribute to the 289 Slabside Cobra. Around 180 Cobras were produced in the early 1980s, and it is estimated that only ten or so exist in France today.
This example was delivered new to the United States, where it belonged to its first owner in New Jersey. It then arrived in France in 2020, and the third and current owner acquired it in 2023.

Conditions
In a very attractive red paint finish over beige leather, the car is in beautiful condition throughout.
Exterior
The polyester bodywork is as original. The paintwork is generally in good condition, but is cracked and chipped in places. The wheels are the same as those on the car when it left the factory. They look good on the whole, despite a few traces of oxidation. The chrome and three-point roll bar are in good condition. The car is also fitted with a tonneau cover.
Interior
The cabin is very well preserved. Leather is prominent inside. It covers the upholstery, door panels and dashboard. The seats are in their original patina. In particular, they have begun to crumble on the sides. Otherwise, the carpets are in excellent condition, as is the dashboard, which features a good number of chrome-ringed gauges. The car is fitted with air conditioning and radio as standard. The owner tells us that they don't work. However, these features are not essential to fully appreciate the driving experience of an American roadster like this one!
Mechanical
Equipped with the imposing 302 ci V8 (5.0 litres), the car is a real muscle car. The engine performs extremely well. It has plenty of torque and is a pleasure to drive. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a manual gearbox, with a smooth succession of ratios. Roadholding is very good.
