The glorious lineage of the "Mégane" bewitched by Renault Sport has sadly come to an end, but it was with the second generation of the Losange compact that the story began, almost twenty years ago. Characterized by a baroque design far removed from the banality displayed by most of its rivals, this supercharged sports car delighted enthusiasts from the outset, with its turbocharged four-cylinder engine (type F4RT) whose 230 hp are easily exploited thanks to sophisticated ground links (we're thinking in particular of the front axle with decoupled pivot). What's more, the R.S. has continued to evolve over the course of its career, and the F1 Team R26 version, equipped with the Cup chassis, is one of the most radical. Still impressive, but easy to use on a daily basis, the car is nonetheless a racer at heart, as evidenced by the impressive lap times achieved on the Nordschleife.
