History
The first-generation Toyota Celica (TA22), launched in 1970 in Japan, was a two-door coupé with 'pony car' styling inspired by the Ford Mustang. The 1600 ST (Super Touring) version was a popular trim level powered by a 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine. It was appreciated for its sporty looks, respectable performance and good value for money, helping to democratise the Japanese sports coupé. These models were equipped with a five-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive, offering an engaging driving experience. The Celica underwent a number of evolutions and enjoyed continued success, including in competition, until its production ended in 2006.
🇧🇪Cette Celica was delivered new to Brugge in Belgium on 4 July 1972. This car is one of the few to have been sold new in Europe. This model is one of the first vintages and is fitted with a fuel filler flap behind the number plate. This special feature lasted until 1972.
🇫🇷Le bought the car in 2024. This car has recently undergone major work. This Toyota was appraised in 2024. It took part in the Tour Auto 2025 in regularity.

🚘The bodywork is in very good condition. It was repossessed in 2024. The red paint was redone last year and is in very good condition. The red tint is well stretched. The "Minilight" wheels and headlights are flawless. The chrome has a nice shine.
Inside, the black leatherette seats are very well preserved. The dashboard and centre console look very good. The wood trim is not cracked. The headlining is tight. The instruments are functional.
⚙️Le 4-cylinder engine runs and starts normally. Gear changes are smooth. The rear axle is free of leaks. The cylinder head gasket, ball joints and steering box have been replaced. A new transmission bearing has been fitted. The car is fitted with 4-piston disc brakes, electronic ignition, an aluminium radiator, a valved exhaust system and two new carburettors. The intake and brakes have been revised. Road holding is very good.
