History
In Porsche mythology, the bodywork known as a 'Speedster' has occupied a special place since the 356 inaugurated the concept. For the record, it's basically a cabriolet with a shortened windscreen and a generally sportier character than the classic convertible. After a long eclipse, the Speedster made its comeback in 1988 on the basis of the 911 Carrera 3.2. Six years later, Porsche decided to conclude the career of the Typ 964 by reintroducing this bodywork in a limited series of 936 cars, produced for just two years and based on the Carrera 2 convertible - cars that are naturally highly sought-after today.
Even rarer are the 964 Speedster modified by TechArt, with only two examples on record. The company, based in Leonberg, a stone's throw from Stuttgart, worked on our example to make it even more exclusive, as evidenced by the special, high-set wheels, lowered body and special bumpers, while the interior also received the careful attention of the tuner. Delivered new in April 1994, the red car with black interior was transformed by TechArt as soon as it left the factory. It has had four owners to date and has always been serviced by recognised Porsche specialists; it is accompanied by its service booklet and original documents.
