History
Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 1966, the Alfa Romeo Spider was named "Duetto" following a competition, although the name never became official. The car was quickly nicknamed "Os de seiche" (cuttlefish bone) due to its lines and elongated rear, which today make it the most desirable model, both in terms of its history and its aesthetics, exuding La Dolce Vita. Our example is a 1600 version and is in very good overall condition.
This Alfa Romeo was delivered new in France in 1967. The current owner acquired it in January 2024. At the time of purchase, the car appeared to be entirely original and its mileage also seemed to be original. In order to perfect the car, he undertook a refurbishment of the engine and paintwork.

The bodywork is in superb overall condition. The paintwork, which was redone last year, looks perfect. We note minor defects, with no dents. The alignment of the doors is consistent, true to the original. The chrome is still shiny. The Carello headlight globes are neither yellowed nor cracked. The four original steel wheels are flawless and fitted with original hubcaps. Mechanics: The car's mechanics are sound and have been recently refurbished. The Weber carburettors are well adjusted: the car idles smoothly and revs nicely with a pleasant sound and no smoke. The gears shift smoothly, without any problems. Interior: The black interior is in good condition and appears to be entirely original. The carpets, door panels and steering wheel are in very good condition, with no major defects. The dashboard is not cracked and the original radio is still present. Undercarriage: The undercarriage is entirely original and in perfect condition. The spare wheel well and fuel tank are in good condition.
