History
This Bizzarrini 5300 GT Strada was sold new in the United States in 1968 to its first owner. The car belonged to several successive collectors, including Max Balchowski, Oliver Kuttner, and then a German collector who brought it back to Europe.
Hervé Ogliastro bought the car in April 1990 at a Maître Poulain auction in Paris (catalogue from that time available): The car had 12,800 miles at the time of purchase and required a complete restoration.
On the advice of Mr Lavost, then President of the Bizzarrini France club, Hervé Ogliastro sent the Bizzarrini to Diomante in Italy. Salvatore Diomante ran the Bizzarrini factory in the 1960s. After two years of restoration in Italy, André Lecoq's company took care of the finishing work.
Four years later, in 1997, it was presented at the Bagatelle Concours d'Elegance and Automobile-Classique magazine devoted a remarkable article to it in its 36th issue.
Purchased in 2017 by the current owner, this 5300 GT Strada has 14,280 miles on the clock. Based on the documents in our possession and the car's history, it is highly likely that this is the original mileage.
