History
This Renault R8 Gordini was bought new by Rolland de Libran in December 1966.
Fitted with its original 1300 cm³ engine, this car is in superb overall condition, has a clear ownership history and regularly takes part in historic motoring events.
States
General state
Our Gordini is a late 1966 model and features a 5-speed gearbox, bespoke running gear and a 1300cm³ engine in line with the standards of the time (original cylinder head and twin Weber carburettors).
The car is now in the hands of its third owner and has always remained in France.
Restored in the early 2000s by Jean Luc Bolla (a recognised specialist), the car was completely stripped down and rebuilt:
- Bodywork stripped back to bare metal,
- Completely repainted
- Complete mechanical overhaul (engine and gearbox removed)
- New running gear
- Refurbished interior and fully functional dashboard
This car competed in VHC events driven by Rolland de Libran and featured on the cover of an issue of Rétro Course a few years ago.
It has taken part in several of the following rallies and races:
- Monte Carlo Historique
- Canne Soleil
- Tour de Corse Historique
Prepared for regularity races (tripmaster, fire extinguisher, harnesses, etc.), the car is carefully maintained, ready to drive and will require no further expenditure from its future owner. A roadworthiness test will be carried out prior to sale.
