History
This Volvo P1800 S left the factory in 1965 and was delivered new to the USA, arriving in France in 2020 when the current owner acquired it. This example is fully matching numbers - chassis, engine and gearbox - with official confirmation from the Volvo Museum in Gothenburg, attesting to its authenticity. The car is in excellent condition, both mechanically and in terms of the bodywork. An extensive file of restoration invoices, worth around $55,000, details the work carried out to preserve and restore this P1800 S. Since its arrival in France, the car has undergone a number of operations to restore it strictly to its original configuration, including new carburettors, a period grille and new red carpeting, as well as an overhaul of the rear suspension and rear silent blocks. An appraisal was carried out in 2023.

This copy is in very good condition.
External state
The bodywork is in excellent condition throughout. The Cherry Red paintwork is tight and shiny. All the removable parts are in good condition, testifying to the care taken in restoring this vehicle. The mirrors, chrome, headlights and 15-inch wheels are all in excellent condition.
Interior state
The interior is extremely well presented, with black leatherette upholstery in very good condition. The recently replaced red velour carpets are also in excellent condition, with matching piping. The dashboard, covered in black imitation leather, is perfectly preserved, and the Smiths instrumentation is complete and functional. As an option, this vehicle can be fitted with a tulipwood steering wheel with two openwork spokes. It also comes with a radio and air conditioning
Mechanical state
On the mechanical side, the B18 engine, in its 'Sport' version, starts up instantaneously and offers smooth, straightforward revs, with a stable idle. There's no suspicious exhaust smoke or visible oil leaks, attesting to a well-maintained engine. This model is equipped with an M41 mechanical gearbox with 4 synchronised gears, complemented by an electrically-controlled overdrive for fourth gear overdrive. Disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear ensure effective braking.
