History
The BMW M5 E39, launched in 1998 and produced until 2003, is the third generation of
the M5. It marked a significant departure as it was the first M5 to be fitted with a
naturally aspirated V8 engine, a 4.9-litre unit producing 400 chevaux (S62 engine).
This sports saloon was renowned for its perfect balance between luxurious comfort and
exceptional performance, setting new standards at the time. Externally,
it retained the understated and elegant styling characteristic of the E39 5 Series, whilst incorporating
distinctive features such as its bespoke bumpers and four
exhaust tailpipes. It was capable of reaching 100 km/h in around 5.3 seconds and its
top speed was limited to 250 km/h. The E39 M5 is regarded by enthusiasts
as the best M5 ever produced.
🇨🇭This particular car was first registered in September 1999 in Switzerland.
🇳🇱The car then moved to the Netherlands. The Dutch professional seller stated that the
vehicle had always been garaged.
🇫🇷It was imported into France in 2020 by the current owner.

General state
This car is in very good overall condition and has been stored in a garage under a cover since 2020. It has a full service history dating back to when it was first registered.
🚘 The bodywork is in very good condition. The “Carbonschwarz” blue paintwork (code 416) is smooth and has a lovely depth of colour. There is a slight scuff mark on the front left bumper and a small chip in the paintwork on the
rear right side sill. The front (xenon) and rear lights are in good condition. The
alloy wheels look good despite a few minor imperfections.
Inside, the semi-full-leather upholstery (Nappa Heritage/caramel – code M1CR) is in
excellent condition. The leather was treated twice, in 2020 and 2025, by the owner using
Colourlock products. The electric seats with memory function work perfectly
and offer good support whilst remaining very comfortable. The wood trim is well
preserved and shows no cracks. Wood trim is also featured on the
gear lever. The original carpet and floor mats are in excellent condition and completely stain-free. The headlining is taut. This model is fitted with a working sunroof, an electric rear window blind and blinds for the rear side windows and rear quarter windows. The two small rear quarter-window blinds are present but no longer roll up. The rest of the on-board equipment also works perfectly, as does the DVD player/6-CD changer in the boot. The central rear-view mirror glass has a crack.
⚙️The V8 runs perfectly and revs well. The gearbox offers
smooth gear changes. The handling is good. The Michelin Pilot
Sport 4 tyres from 2017 will need replacing. The underbody is sound and shows
no signs of rust. The vehicle has never been in an accident.
