The black leather interior is well preserved, with stretched leathers on the seats offering excellent support and comfort. The naturally-aspirated 507 bhp V10 engine is reason enough to buy an M5 E60. With its Formula 1 pedigree, it revs up to just under 9,000 rpm with a sound reminiscent of the grand prix soundtrack of a bygone era, enough to strike a chord with any lover of fine motoring. All the preventive maintenance work has been carried out. The SMGII gearbox works perfectly. It's remarkably quick for its time and reinforces the car's bestial side, with gear changes that are as virile as they are quick in sport mode. When driven smoothly, it also proves to be gentle and pleasant, reflecting the car's all-round versatility.
