History
Our example was delivered in France to its first owner in 1970 in Haute-Savoie. It was one of the first SMs to leave the factory.
First owner: 1970 - 1987 in Haute-Savoie.
Second owner: 1987 - 1989 in Nogent.
Third owner: 1989 - 1994 in Gironde.
Fourth and current owner since 1994 in the Pyrénées Orientales.
Nearly €19,000 worth of mechanical work was carried out in 2020. The car was made fully reliable by Atelier Amédée, an SM specialist. Many parts were also supplied by the SM Club de France.
States
General state
The bodywork, in its Platinum Blue (AC632) hue, is true to its origins and offers a very attractive appearance. The paintwork is bright and the chromework looks very good. However, we did note some light scratches on the left rear wing and bumper. The headlights and windows are in very good condition.
The black leather upholstery is in excellent condition. The seats sit well and have no holes or tears. The carpets and door trim look good and the headlining is in good condition. All the on-board instrumentation is functional.
The car is in perfect working order and has been fully serviced. The engine has been fully restored and made reliable. The timing chain has been changed. The carburettors have been refurbished and the usual operations have also been carried out: replacement of the shaft and connecting rod bearings, replacement of the piston rings and adjustment of the valve clearances. The clutch and its mechanism are new. On the gearbox, the gears are well guided and do not creak. Braking and suspension components are good. At the same time, a stainless steel exhaust system has been fitted to improve engine sound.
The structure and chassis are sound and free from corrosion. Photos are available on request.
