History
The Facel Vega Facel II (type HK2), produced from 1961 to 1964, left its mark on its era. This French grand tourer succeeded the HK 500 coupé and was quickly hailed by the international press, which regarded it as the most beautiful post-war French car and the fastest four-seater coupé in the world.
Unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October 1961, its sleek appearance immediately won over the public. Its elegance was often compared to the designs of the greatest Italian stylists. Long and low, the Facel II features a roof of great finesse, adorned with stainless steel inserts. New headlights were fitted: the Megalux, created especially by Marchal for Facel Vega.
This model is extremely rare; the manufacturer states that only 184 were produced.
🇺🇲 This Facel was delivered new in 1962 from the factory to its first owner in the United States.
🇫🇷 It returned to France in 1995. This model underwent a complete restoration that lasted two years (supported by a photo dossier). Its current owner purchased it in 2005.
🏅 This Facel won the prize at the La Baule Automobile Concours d’Élégance in 2011.

This car is in very good overall condition.
🚘 The bodywork of this Facel is well preserved. The grey paintwork is smooth and looks great. There are a few very slight scratches. The Borani spoke wheels and headlights are in good condition. The chrome trim is free from pitting and has a lovely shine.
Inside, the blue leather seats are in good condition. There are a few signs of wear on the leather in several places, but this is to be expected given the car’s age. The painted dashboard is in good condition. The chequered leather headliner is taut. The instrument panel is in working order. The car is fitted with a PO-GO radio and a magnificent Nardi mahogany steering wheel.
The original Chrysler 6.3-litre V8 engine, known as the “Typhoon TY8”, was overhauled during the restoration. It starts and runs normally. The owner states that the car is serviced very regularly. The “TorqueFlite” automatic gearbox ensures smooth gear changes. The powertrain allows speeds of up to 230 km/h. Braking is power-assisted and provided by discs on all four wheels. The road holding is very good.
