History
The Land Rover Series III, produced from 1971 to 1985, is the most widely produced version of the Land Rover Series, with around 440,000 units. The 109 model (wheelbase in inches) is the long-chassis version, often used as a utility or troop vehicle. Here, the "Bâché" designation indicates a body with a soft canvas and hoops. The 2.7 six-cylinder engine developed around 86 bhp. In this configuration, it was a fairly rare car on the market.
In 1976, it still embodied the Land Rover heritage of a simple, versatile and uncompromising off-road vehicle, widely used by armies and farmers.
The car was bought new by Swiss firefighters. At the time, the vehicle was rarely driven, but benefited from meticulous maintenance every year. This explains its near-new condition, which has never been restored.
🇫🇷 Subsequently imported to France in 2021. The current owner acquired it the same year.

🚘 The bodywork is in very good condition. The red paintwork is tight and has a nice sheen. The headlights and bumpers are in good condition. This model has a removable hardtop roof and a tarpaulin in excellent condition. The wheels have no particular defects.
On board, the 3 front seats in black imitation leather are very well preserved, as are the rear bench seats. The dashboard has some defects. The instruments are functional.
🔧 The 6-cylinder 2.6 engine starts without a hitch and revs well, delivering all its power. The 4-speed manual gearbox works normally, as does the transfer case, offering very good off-road driving pleasure.

After spending weekends in a camper van at automotive events with his grandparents and Sunday mornings watching Automoto with his father, Johan decided to turn his passion into a career. He began as an automotive technician before training in sales to join the CarJager universe. Probably born in the wrong era, he dreams as much of the British elegance of a Jaguar E-Type as of the emotion of a 1960s Ferrari. Today, he assists both sellers and buyers in bringing their projects to life, working with cars from the 1950s to the present day.
