History
This Mercedes-Benz 250 SL "Pagode" was originally delivered to Colorado, USA. It was purchased by its current owner in January 2008 from Exotic Motor Cars (Palm Springs). The owner imported the car to France in March 2017, at the same time as he moved there. It has been regularly serviced and comes with a full service history documenting its journey from the United States to France.

This particular example has undergone a meticulous restoration. The bodywork was stripped back and repainted in its original "Papyrus White" (Glasurit) colour in October 2024. The chrome trim has been treated or replaced with Mercedes OEM parts. The beige soft top is in perfect condition and the car is sold with its original hardtop, which has also been recently refurbished.
The interior has been restored (seat springs replaced in 2019) and is in excellent condition, although the period radio is no longer operational.
The 2.5L fuel-injected engine runs perfectly with a reconditioned fuel pump. The exhaust system was completely replaced in September 2019.
The vehicle has been upgraded from a 4-speed manual gearbox to a 5-speed ZF gearbox (ZF 5-speed). This project began in 2015 at Chuck’s Auto Shop, involving the purchase of a complete kit comprising the ZF gearbox, a clutch release bearing and specific linkage, for a total of $12,580. The file includes detailed technical instructions from ZF Friedrichshafen AG specifying the necessary modifications, such as shortening the drive shaft by approximately 60 mm and the gearshift linkage by 70 mm. More recently in France, additional work was carried out in August 2020 to optimise gear changes, including the replacement of linkage bushings. The gearbox is now fully functional and a pleasure to use.
The file includes numerous original invoices and documentation, the old registration documents, the original service books and a spare set of keys.
