History
The Porsche 911 Type 964 was launched in 1989. It marked a major step forward compared with the 911 G. With power steering, ABS brakes and a multi-link suspension, the 964 was the first truly modern 911. In its Cabriolet version, it became one of the most sought-after open-top sports cars of its era.
This 964 was delivered new in France in 1990 by Porsche Nantes. Having spent its entire life in France, its mileage is fully traceable thanks to the Histovec report. The first owner was a business executive from Nantes. The current owner purchased it in 2003 through Porsche Nantes.

This Porsche 964 Carrera 2 Cabriolet is in good overall condition.
🚘The bodywork has the advantage of still retaining nearly 50 per cent of its original factory paintwork, which is rare for a car with over 100,000 km on the clock. The repainted areas have a perfectly reasonable paint thickness, suggesting the work was carried out to a high standard. The front end shows quite significant stone chips; perfectionists might be inclined to have the bumper and bonnet repainted. The owner has obtained a quote for repainting these parts. The alloy wheels show some signs of scuffing. The soft-top fabric is in excellent condition; it was replaced in 2009. The soft-top mechanism works very well.
The white leather interior is bright and contrasts perfectly with the dark bodywork. This makes this 964 a 911 with a truly unique configuration. There are a few minor signs of wear, particularly on the gear knob, but overall the interior remains inviting, with a lovely patina and in excellent condition. The headliner of the soft top would need replacing.
⚙️The 3.6-litre flat-6 runs very well; it has been fully restored. It has covered just 5,000 km since then, so the engine is well-sealed. The owners have chosen not to recommission the old R12 gas air-conditioning system. Gear changes are smooth; the clutch was replaced during the engine overhaul. The running gear is in good condition. The owner notes that the rear tyres are new (Pirelli, fitted in June 2026).
The last service was carried out at Porsche in September 2024, including an oil change, spark plugs, belts, brake fluid, a check of the rocker arm clearance and replacement of the starter motor. The owner states that he can arrange for the service due in September 2026 to be carried out in advance of the sale. This vehicle is fitted with the optional 40% limited-slip differential (option code 220).
