History: This R18 Turbo was bought new by its current owner in 1983, so it is a first-hand car.
Condition:
General: The car is in lovely presentable condition.
Exterior: The bodywork is in good condition, with no noticeable deformation. The paintwork is in good condition, although there are a few blemishes here and there. The wheels are as good as new and the headlights are in very good condition.
Interior: The cabin is very clean. The fabric seats and bench are welcoming and in good condition, as are the carpets and dashboard. The car is fitted with a cassette deck, which was an option at the time.
Powertrain: The engine works well, as does the gearbox, which shifts smoothly. The car handles very well on the road.

On the front page of the Auto-Journal of October 1, 1980, the headline: "R18 Turbo, l'anti BMW" (R18 Turbo, the anti-BMW) - overlooking an example of the dashing Renault in a deliciously provocative shade of red (reference 705 for enthusiasts). Inside, we find a test bench signed by the legendary André Costa, who spares no words in praising the new Renault's performance, braking, handling and steering. The French automotive press had been dreaming of a French BMW for some time, especially since a certain 323i had, two years earlier, defined the substrates of the mid-range sports sedan. Four decades on, I can see some of you still laughing about it, and you'd be wrong: as we shall see, the 18 Turbo is infinitely better than the reputation it continues to suffer in certain circles.
