History
Launched in 1974, the Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT (which became the GTV in its 2.0L version) marked a stylistic revolution thanks to Giorgetto Giugiaro's masterful design, offering a fastback coupé with bold, taut lines. It had the heavy responsibility of succeeding the Giulia GT, more commonly known as the Bertone Coupé. It stood out for its sophisticated "Transaxle" technical architecture, placing the gearbox at the rear for optimal weight distribution and exemplary road holding. This first phase is particularly recognisable for its elegant chrome accents, stainless steel bumpers and vintage interior featuring a single rev counter facing the driver.
Our model is from the first series to roll off the production line at the Arese factory in 1978. The current owner purchased it in 2005.

General state
This Alfetta GTV is in very good overall condition. The bodywork is well preserved and shows no signs of corrosion, which is rare on this model, which is usually very sensitive. The "Bianco Capodimonte" white paintwork has a beautiful shine. We can note the presence of very slight paint chips on the doors. The headlights are in good condition, as is the chrome. The optional 15" "Stilauto" wheels are in good condition. Inside, the red leather seat upholstery is very well preserved. The red carpet is in very good condition. The dashboard is not cracked. The steering wheel has slight defects around the horn control. The headliner is taut. The dashboard instruments are functional. The 2.0-litre "Bialbero" 4-cylinder engine starts smoothly and revs well. This is not the original engine, as it was purchased new from Masoero (a former factory driver and Alfa Romeo dealer). It was completely overhauled about fifteen years ago, as were the running gear. The 5-speed manual gearbox is working normally. The road handling is very good. The 4 tyres were replaced in 2024. The original engine block is supplied with the car.
