This BMW M5 E60 was delivered new to Italy in 2007. It has had just one Italian owner, a company director. It was imported into France in 2013. The current owner acquired it in 2022. According to the current owner, this M5 has never been used on a racetrack, but it has undergone rigorous maintenance to ensure that it remains in good working order. Just before its purchase, the preventive work required after 100,000 km was carried out by MSeb'Auto, a recognised specialist (connecting rod bearings, clutch, flow meter).
Conditions
The car is in very good overall condition, all original and untouched by the eccentric modifications common to these M5s.
Exterior
The bodywork is in good condition, despite a few light micro-scratches, particularly on the tailgate. The paintwork retains a nice sheen. The mirrors and headlights are in excellent condition. Two of the wheels have been professionally rebuilt. The car will be accompanied by a high-quality bespoke tarpaulin (Dust Cover brand, for interior and exterior use).
Interior
The black leather interior is well preserved, with stretched leathers on the seats offering excellent support and comfort. The driver's seat shows a few signs of age-related wear, but the whole remains in good condition. The on-board instrumentation is perfectly functional, ensuring smooth operation of the equipment.
Mechanical
The naturally-aspirated 507 bhp V10 engine is reason enough to buy an M5 E60. With its Formula 1 pedigree, it revs up to just under 9,000 rpm with a sound reminiscent of the grand prix soundtrack of a bygone era, enough to strike a chord with any lover of fine motoring. All the preventive maintenance work has been carried out. The SMGII gearbox works perfectly. It's remarkably quick for its time and reinforces the car's bestial side, with gear changes that are as virile as they are quick in sport mode. When driven smoothly, it also proves to be gentle and pleasant, reflecting the car's all-round versatility.
