History
The Delahaye 135 was presented at the 1934 Paris Motor Show. Derived from the 138, it had a lower, slimmer shape which, combined with its homogeneous engine and balanced handling, made it a real success. Well powered with a 3.5 block, its career was a success, making it one of the best-selling pre-war cars in this market segment.
France's leading coachbuilders used it to produce veritable works of art on wheels, and the car also proved its reliability and performance with a number of sporting successes during the period (victory in the Monte Carlo Rally, victory in the ACF GP, etc.).
The MS ("special modified") 3.5-litre version with three carburettors was the most powerful in the touring range, and production continued until the 1950s.

This Delahaye 135MS cabriolet chassis was bought new from the Garage Royal in Paris by the famous collector and aviator Albert Prost, who had it bodied at Saoutchik to his own taste (special order). Five years later, on 1 June 1955, he sold the car to a certain Garage Le Marais.
Albert Prost found his car again in the early 1980s and decided to buy it back! He had it completely restored. The file accompanying the car contains a number of interesting items: the advertising leaflet and period price lists from the Delahaye agent in Roanne, several photos of the car in the 1950s with Mrs Prost, a photo after Albert Prost had found it before restoration and a few period photos.
This Delahaye is unique in the world: its flowing design is perfectly in keeping with Saoutchik's style at the time, with its wrap-around front wings extending over the streamlined rear, without a burden of chrome. The burgundy paintwork emphasises the elegant lines of the bodywork. Inside, the well-preserved cognac leather upholstery has a lovely patina. The large four-spoke steering wheel can be found in front of the Delahaye 135's sporty dashboard, here enhanced by a vintage Commodor radio. The rear boot houses the two original suitcases, whose shape is perfectly suited to this accommodation.
The current owner bought the car from the Prost family and maintains it with the utmost care. Overhauled for sale, the car runs very well and will not cost its future owner anything.
