History
The 993 RS Carrera is a lightweight variant of the Carrera that was introduced for the 1995 model year. It featured welded bodywork, an aluminium bonnet, omitted headlamp washers and thinner windows than the traditional Carrera. This example left the factory in black (L741) and was fitted with RS Clubsport-style spoilers. Other exterior details include pins on the front bonnet and engine cover.
This 1996 Porsche 993 Carrera RS is one of 1,014 produced for the years 1995 and 1996 and was delivered new to the Porsche Zentrum Bamberg in Germany. The car was serviced at this Porsche centre at regular intervals, as evidenced by the stamps in the logbook until 2001. This was when the car was purchased and imported into France by the current owner.
Since then, the car has been maintained by his mechanic. The car is extremely sound and in perfect working order.
The car is fitted with black and grey leather upholstery. It is powered by a 3.8-litre flat-six engine mated to a G50/30 six-speed manual gearbox (Porsche CUP gearbox) and a limited-slip differential.
An RS Clubsport pack has been added as an after-market option, along with a welded roll-over bar, OMP multi-point harnesses and a fire extinguishing system.
Other standard equipment on this 993 RS includes welded bodywork, an aluminium bonnet, 18″ Speedline wheels, an under-hood grab bar, Recaro seats, air conditioning, electric windows and a Blaupunkt CD stereo system. A top engine seal was carried out in April 2024, and other work carried out since 2022 has included fitting a new racing clutch as well as replacing the silencers and fuel pump.

Conditions
This 993 Carrera RS is a well-monitored, perfectly sound car.
Exterior
The 18″ silver Speedline wheels feature RS centre hubcaps and are fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tyres measuring 225/40 at the front and 275/35 at the rear, the latter of which were fitted in May 2024.
An optional factory-fitted tow bar sits above the front boot, which houses an original spare wheel. Braking power is provided by red four-piston callipers on perforated and ventilated discs.

Interior
The cabin houses Recaro fixed-back seats, trimmed in black leather with grey centres and fitted with OMP multi-point harnesses that are attached to the full roll bar.
The car is also equipped with a fire protection system, TechArt drilled pedals, an aluminium floor on the driver's side and a Blaupunkt CD stereo system. Other factory equipment includes air conditioning, electric windows and a front passenger airbag.
The microsuede-wrapped MOMO steering wheel has a central yellow stripe and faces a central tachometer flanked by a quartz clock and combined meters. The six-digit speedo reads 194k kilometres. The seller states that the dismantled factory steering wheel will be supplied with the car for sale.

Mechanical
The M64/20 flat-six engine has been uprated to 3.8 litres on the Carrera RS and features a VarioRam intake system, forged pistons, lightened rocker arms, enlarged intake valves and a Bosch Motronic engine management system. It is rated at 300 bhp. The engine in this example works perfectly and delivers its full power. The fuel pump was replaced in August 2023 and the seller states that it was sealed in April 2024.
Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a six-speed G50/30 'Porsche CUP' manual gearbox installed by the previous owner and a limited slip differential. The CUP clutch was replaced in July 2022, at which time the clutch pedal stop and clutch release bearing were also replaced. A pair of new, original stainless steel silencers were installed in April 2024.
