General state
This Triumph Spitfire 1500 FH is sound and in good condition.
The bodywork and paintwork are generally in good condition. The car has been repainted in a different colour from the original. Although the paintwork is uniform, there are a number of minor defects, which can be seen in the photos and detailed in the inspection report. The soft top is in fair condition. There is a small tear on the passenger side and the rear window is slightly tarnished. The rocker panels are in good condition and show no signs of corrosion.
The interior, in original skai and houndstooth fabric, is in generally good condition. There are no cracks in the wood trim on the dashboard. Various imperfections are visible in the inspection report and in the gallery. The driver and passenger seats have tears on the seats and backrests. The carpets and floor mats, both front and rear, are in very good condition, as are the door panels, which have only minor imperfections. The soft-top mechanism has been re-welded. The car radio does not appear to be working.
The car starts without any abnormal noise or smoke. The engine block, fitted with Weber carburettors, is sound and responds perfectly to acceleration. The cylinder head gasket has recently been replaced, and the carburettors have been rebuilt and adjusted. A few mechanical corrections are detailed in the inspection report. The brakes have also been bled, and the hoses are in good condition. It is important to note, however, that braking is not optimal. The gearbox, fitted with an overdrive in perfect working order, enables smooth, seamless gear changes. The shock absorbers behave well on the road. On the road, there are slight vibrations in the steering wheel and some body noise.
The underpinnings are perfectly sound and free from corrosion.
