History
The Alfa Romeo SZ was a genuine prototype that went into series production. Between 1989 and 1991, Zagato produced 1,036 units. It was the last work designed by Robert Opron, the French designer best known for his work on the Citroën DS and SM. The SZ was also available as a cabriolet (RZ) and even had a little-known cousin at Lancia: the Hyena.
Our SZ was bought new by Scuderia del Portello, which kept it for almost 30 years. It was serviced in-house by their world-renowned specialist Alberto. Alberto knows SR/RZs better than anyone, so it was in the best possible hands. The current owner is a keen collector of Italian cars in the Dijon area. He will buy it in 2019.

General state
Exterior: The bodywork is made of composite material and features highly original lines. The roof is in aluminium and the spoiler in carbon. Another remarkable detail is the rectangular headlamps, which were Bugatti's inspiration. The car still wears its factory paintwork, never repainted! The bumpers, headlamps and wheels are in very good condition.
Interior: The interior is in mint condition, in keeping with the low mileage. All the on-board equipment is functional. Among the original interior details is the superb leather roof lining. Surprisingly, the car was fitted with very nice speakers from the factory, although there was never a car radio!
Powertrain: The Busso V6 starts and runs perfectly. The engine revs up quickly and the gearbox shifts smoothly. It's just had a major overhaul. The lift works perfectly. All consumables are up to date. Tyre production date: 2022.
