States
General state
This 912 is in good overall condition and has a lovely patina.
External state
The paintwork is in its original “Burgundy Red” colour. It shows signs of age and prolonged exposure to the Californian sun, notably with visible cracking on the wings and roof. A repaint might be considered depending on the desired standard of finish. There are a few traces of corrosion around the wheel arches. The chrome trim and bumpers are in good overall condition. We note that the rear lights are worn, but new ones will be supplied with the car (see photos).
Interior state
The interior looks good overall. The upholstery and dashboard have been refurbished by the company featured on the ‘Vintage Mécanique’ programme.
Mechanical state
The engine is the original one (matching numbers). It was overhauled in 1998 and has been meticulously maintained ever since.
The car is in very good mechanical condition. It starts easily, whether cold or warm.
The front tyres were replaced in 2025.
