History

This TR3 was delivered new to the United States in 1958. It actually spent part of its life in California. In 2011, it was imported into France and purchased by the current owner, who has a comprehensive file of invoices and documents dating from its previous life across the Atlantic.

General state

The car is in excellent condition. It has been very well maintained.

Exterior: Apart from a scuff mark on the left rear wing, the bodywork is in good condition. The ‘British Racing Green’ paintwork is in good condition overall, although a few signs of ageing are visible. The spoke wheels are in excellent condition, as are the chrome fittings. The soft-top frame is sturdy and the soft-top itself is in very good condition, as are the side screens. It should be noted that the tonneau cover was replaced in 2010 by the previous owner and is now in excellent condition.

Interior: The car’s interior is very well preserved. The upholstery and dashboard are both in very good condition. The carpets are also in very good condition. All the on-board instruments are in working order.

Mechanics: This TR3 features electronic ignition, a high-performance starter motor, a stainless steel exhaust, and many other upgrades. The four-cylinder engine runs very smoothly. It is mated to a much more recent five-speed gearbox sourced from Toyota. This makes the car easier to drive whilst providing an extra gear. Overall, the car’s road holding is very good.

Underbody: The car’s underbody is sound and free from corrosion. Photos are available on request.
