Built in less than 3,000 examples for Europe, the TR5 PI is one of the rarest Triumphs. It was a technical achievement in its time, thanks to the installation of a 6-cylinder engine in a TR4 A IRS chassis.
The chassis number confirms that our TR5 was assembled in Belgium, as were all left-hand drive examples built for Europe. This example is of French origin and its owner has owned it since 2013. He has a large file of invoices covering almost 20 years. It has always benefited from meticulous maintenance, both mechanically and aesthetically.

This car is in very good condition.
Exterior
The bodywork is very nice and the paintwork has been redone in its original colour. The chrome is in very good condition and the spoked wheels are impeccable. The alpaca soft top is brand new. It has been fitted by a professional saddler to ensure the best possible fit.
Interior
The upholstery is in excellent condition, reflecting the care taken with the car. The dashboard, with its wooden panel and dials, is also in very good condition. The three-spoke steering wheel is in perfect condition and the instruments are functional.
Mechanical
The in-line 6-cylinder engine delivers a superb sound. It is generous with torque and delivers a smooth, pleasant, high-performance drive. The manual gearbox works well, with smooth gear changes. Overall, the car's handling is very sound. Where some TR5s have been modified with BOSCH fuel injection, this one is still fitted with its original LUCAS injection system, which works wonderfully. As for the overdrive, it works perfectly.
