History
The history of the BMW Z1 began in 1985 with the creation of BMW Technik GmbH, a special division dedicated to vehicle concepts and new technologies. This two-seater roadster was developed as a rolling laboratory, distinguished by its galvanised steel chassis and fully demountable composite body. Its most striking feature is the electrically retractable doors that drop down into the rocker panels. Produced in a limited edition of just 8,000 cars between 1989 and 1991, the Z1 inaugurated BMW's line of 'Z' roadsters.

The bodywork is in very good condition. The recent paintwork is tight and shiny. The headlights are in good condition. The rims show some signs of rubbing but are in good condition overall. The retractable doors work well. The black soft top is in excellent condition. The car has received a full PPF film to protect the bodywork.
Inside, the seats are well preserved. The dashboard and instrument panel are in good condition, as is the centre console. The carpets are well presented. The instruments are functional.
⚙️Le The 6-cylinder 2.5 engine starts and revs well, delivering all its power. The clutch has been replaced and the brakes are new. The seller plans to have the valve train rebuilt for the sale. The 5-speed manual gearbox is precise and pleasant, offering excellent driving pleasure. The car comes with a complete toolbox and interior cover. The fuel hoses have recently been replaced and the cooling system overhauled (viscous coupling, water pump, calorstat).
