History
Unveiled for the first time in 1961, the Jaguar E-Type was immediately hailed as “the most beautiful car in the world” thanks to its avant-garde design by Malcolm Sayer. The introduction of the 4.2-litre engine in October 1964 marked a significant evolution of the Series 1, substantially improving torque and offering a more enjoyable driving experience. The 4,235 cc XK straight-six engine, fed by three SU carburettors, retained its 265 bhp output but delivered markedly more powerful acceleration. Furthermore, the 4.2-litre models benefited from a new, fully synchronised four-speed manual gearbox, addressing a weakness of the 3.8-litre version. Other improvements in this sub-series included new seats and a more effective braking system. The 4.2 L Series 1 roadster is one of the most sought-after models among collectors for its balance between the pure design of the first series and its mechanical improvements. Today, it is a timeless icon of the sports car.
🇺🇲This 1967 E-Type S1 is among the last Series 1 models produced. It was delivered new to the United States.
🇫🇷 It has been owned by our client for over 18 years.

🚘 This Jaguar is in excellent condition and true to its original specification. The Aubergine Black paintwork was repainted in 2022 and looks superb. Photos of the repainting process are available and demonstrate that the work was carried out to the highest standards. The beige soft top is in excellent condition, as are the alloy wheels, headlights and chrome trim.
The underbody is in very sound condition, with no deformation or corrosion.
The black leather upholstery is original and has developed a certain patina. The dashboard, wooden steering wheel and carpets are in very good condition. All the dials and instruments are fully functional.
🔧 The car runs perfectly, with no unusual noise or smoke. It underwent a major restoration in 2009 by Atelier des Coteaux: engine, running gear, wiring harness… Everything was rebuilt to the highest standards, and a comprehensive file of photographs and invoices documents the work carried out. Since then, it has been carefully maintained.
