The car is delivered new in France, to Paris to be precise.
It was a special order from the first owner. He was a gentleman driver and racing driver. He had the car personalised, which explains the presence of some unique original features: aluminium doors, sliding windows, and even a socket for plugging in an electric shaver! The presence of the little Pininfarina flags confirms that this was a special order. These were generally reserved for the most prestigious Ferraris and a few special configurations.
The car's current owner bought it from a friend in 1988. He began an initial restoration phase a few years later.
