History
The Land Rover Series III, produced from 1971 to 1985, is the most widely produced version of the Land Rover Series, with around 440,000 units manufactured. The 109 model (wheelbase in inches) is the long-wheelbase version, often used as a utility vehicle or troop carrier. Here, the designation ‘Bâché’ indicates a body with a soft canvas top and roll bars. The 2.7-litre six-cylinder engine produced around 86 bhp. This version in this configuration makes it a fairly rare car on the market.
In 1976, it still embodied the Land Rover heritage of a simple, versatile and uncompromising off-road vehicle, widely used by the armed forces and farmers.
This car was purchased new by Swiss firefighters. At the time, the vehicle was driven very little but underwent meticulous annual servicing. This explains its near-new condition, despite never having been restored.
🇫🇷 It was subsequently imported into France in 2021. The current owner acquired it in the same year.

🚘 The bodywork is in very good condition. The red paintwork is smooth and has a lovely sheen. The headlight lenses and bumpers are in good condition. This model features a removable hardtop and a soft top in excellent condition. The alloy wheels show no particular defects.
Inside, the three front seats in black imitation leather are very well preserved, as are the rear bench seats. The dashboard shows some wear. The instruments are in working order.
🔧 The 2.6-litre 6-cylinder engine starts without a hitch and revs well, delivering its full power. The 4-speed manual gearbox operates normally, as does the transfer box, offering a very pleasant off-road driving experience.

After spending weekends in a camper van at automotive events with his grandparents and Sunday mornings watching Automoto with his father, Johan decided to turn his passion into a career. He began as an automotive technician before training in sales to join the CarJager universe. Probably born in the wrong era, he dreams as much of the British elegance of a Jaguar E-Type as of the emotion of a 1960s Ferrari. Today, he assists both sellers and buyers in bringing their projects to life, working with cars from the 1950s to the present day.
