History
The Corvette C1 was produced from 1953 to 1962. The 1961 model year marked a major
aesthetic evolution: the rear adopted the ‘duckbill’ design that foreshadowed the C2, and the grille lost
its ‘teeth’ in favour of a simple chrome mesh. This is a particularly sought-after model year,
striking a balance between the charm of the first generation and the styling that foreshadowed the Sting Ray.
🇺🇸 This example was delivered new to the United States in 1961.
🇧🇪 Our client had the car imported to Belgium in April 2023 through a
renowned Dutch dealer.

This Corvette is currently in very good condition.
🚘 The fibreglass bodywork looks good. The paintwork was repainted a few years ago. The
chrome trim is in very good overall condition. The soft top was recently replaced and is in
excellent condition.
The bright red interior is immaculate and contrasts perfectly with the black and grey bodywork.
The dashboard instruments are in working order.
⚙ The V8 retains its original Rochester mechanical fuel injection system. The car runs very
smoothly whether cold or warm. The manual gearbox is a pleasure to use. The car’s
handling is very good. The underbody is sound.
Since purchasing it, the owner has had several services carried out:
- Fuel injectors;
- New spark plugs;
- Engine tuning;
- Brakes;
- Gearbox and differential grease;
- New valve cover gasket;
-Electrical and lighting systems refurbished;
-New steering rack boots;
-Various minor jobs to bring it up to this standard.
