History
This Jaguar MK2 has spent its entire life in France.
The current owner bought the car in early 2025 from a friend of his father, who had owned it since 1991. The latter had undertaken major restoration work in 1998 (upholstery/bodywork/mechanics).
📄 The car has French registration, is up to date and is registered with the current owner's company.

🚘 The bodywork is in beautiful condition, the paintwork was redone in 1998. The English green brings an even more elegant dimension to the MK2, it is one of the most sought after colours. The paintwork measurements are generally satisfactory. There are a few very small localised paint reactions, which the owner says have stabilised. For paintwork that is over 30 years old, it has stood the test of time very well.
The cabin is welcoming. The woodwork has a lovely patina. The front seats have been redone and look very good. The rear bench has its original leather, which shows a few signs of wear and tear, which a saddler can easily repair without changing the leather. We note the presence of shelves for the rear seats, a sought-after option.
🔧Mechanically:
The engine compartment is of exemplary cleanliness, consistent with the care given to the mechanics.
The engine is in very good condition, having benefited from a major overhaul in early 2025 and some in-depth work (as a preventive measure, change of connecting rod bearings and oil pump). Sealing is satisfactory for a Jaguar. Oil pressure is good.
This MK2 was originally fitted with an automatic gearbox, which the previous owner had replaced with a manual gearbox. The previous owner had it replaced by a manual gearbox, and even if he didn't want to change to a manual gearbox, he had a Getrag 5-speed gearbox installed, which was fitted to some BMWs. This is a common optimisation on older Jaguars, as the gearbox is much smoother and more pleasant than the rough 4-speed MOSS gearbox.
Handling is good, and the front axle was rebuilt at the beginning of 2025 (upper and lower silentblocks / ball joints / stabiliser bar silentblocks).
The underpinnings are sound.
