Jaguar Mark 2 3.8 1961 / Manual

This car is in superb external condition. The bodywork has been completely refurbished, as shown in the extensive photo gallery. All traces of rust have been removed, and any bodywork components requiring attention have been treated or replaced. The car looks excellent in its new ‘Champagne Metallic’ colour, a high-quality paint finish replacing the original blue. The alloy wheels are in near-new condition and the chrome trim is gleaming. The headlights are clean and clear. The windows are also clean and all the badges are present.

The interior is in very good condition and the burgundy red leather upholstery provides comfortable seating. The leather is perfectly taut. The various elm burl wood trim elements on the dashboard and door panels are in excellent condition, as are the two folding trays on the backs of the front seats. The Moto-Lita wooden steering wheel is also in very good condition. The instrument cluster is clean and fully functional, and the radio works perfectly. The carpets also look very good.

Apart from the extensive mechanical restoration carried out in 2020, the engine was replaced with a standard replacement unit in 2025. The new 3.8-litre engine block, which is identical to the original model but dates from 1963, has been fully overhauled, as shown in detail in the photo gallery. A new radiator, a new steering box and new suspension springs were also fitted last year. The car starts and runs beautifully. It idles steadily, revs freely and delivers its full power. Gear changes are smooth, as is the use of overdrive, and there are no creaks or unusual noises to report. The hydraulic disc braking system is very good and the road holding is sound. The stainless steel exhaust system produces a magnificent sound.

The underbody of this car is sound and free from any corrosion, having been completely overhauled during the restoration, as evidenced by the extensive photo gallery.
