The Jaguar S-Type was launched to bridge the gap between the popular Mark 2 and the luxurious Mark X, using the famous 3.8-litre XK engine. It was distinguished from the Mark 2 by its E-Type-inspired independent rear suspension, offering much improved ride and handling.
