This example is in fine overall condition considering its age and history.
The bodywork displays a beautiful, uniform finish in Old English White, which is deep and well-preserved. The paintwork is taut across all the panels, with no noticeable distortion. The chrome-plated spoke wheels with wing nuts, typical of the Type E, are in good overall condition. The headlamps, framed by their chrome rings and protected by their domed glass — a distinctive feature of the first series — are clear and immaculate. The chrome on the bumpers, side indicators and bodywork is shiny and well-preserved.
Inside the cabin, the black leather interior reveals a space that has been well preserved in its original spirit. The upholstery is in very good condition. The original brushed aluminium dashboard, with its row of Smiths gauges (coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel, ammeter) and its toggle switches labelled in English, is in fine overall condition. The three-spoke perforated wooden-rimmed steering wheel and the wooden gear lever with its round knob combine to create an authentic and well-preserved driver’s cockpit. The on-board instruments are fully functional.
The 3.8-litre inline-six engine starts normally. The four gears of the manual gearbox shift smoothly. The road handling is very satisfactory.
A file of invoices dating back to 2003 is included. A great deal of work has been carried out. The last service was carried out in April 2026. The car is therefore fully up to date with its servicing and ready to hit the road with its future owner.
