History
Specifications: Flat 6 engine - 1991 cc - 160 hp - 11 CV 4-speed semi-automatic "sportomatic" gearbox Exterior: Tangerine Orange - Interior: black First MOT: 28/10/1968
Mileage: 35,800 km Chassis number: 11800999
History: According to the owner's sources, fewer than 120 examples of the 1968 911 2.0S coupé with a short chassis were equipped with the Sportomatic gearbox, making it a rarity. The car is matching numbers, certified by Porsche.
This 911 2.0 S was delivered by Porsche in May 1968. However, due to social unrest in France, its registration by Sonauto Levallois was postponed until October 1968. It is therefore a car delivered in France, hence its specific features in terms of the bar added to the bumpers, which are unique to 911s delivered by Sonauto.
Its first owner lived in Levallois. He kept it until 1993. The second owner then owned it for four years. The third owner lived in Normandy and used it for a few years before it was largely left unused in the early 2000s. The fourth and current owner bought it in 2006. He drove it home but felt that it was tired. He therefore had it completely restored by a now well-known specialist, Aurélien's garage, which hosts the Wheeler Dealer programme. The work was of high quality and everything was done to leave the car in its original configuration. It was restored in 2014 and has since covered 1,000 km per year.
In terms of mileage, it would appear that the odometer has only done one lap, giving it a total of 135,800 km. Finally, this 2.0 S is "matching numbers". Condition: General: This example is in superb overall condition.
Exterior: The bodywork has been completely restored, starting with the bare chassis, with complete dismantling of the fittings and seals and replacement of these where necessary. Most of the chrome has been retained. The finish is of excellent quality. The seller informs us that there is a micro impact on the passenger side windscreen. The Fuchs rims are in perfect condition.
Interior: The interior is in very good condition, in black imitation leather. Everything is in order. The seats, carpets and trim have been retained to preserve the authenticity of this car, especially as they were still in good condition at the time of restoration. The interior and front compartment carpets are well preserved. The original radio is still present and in working order, as are all the dials, gauges, etc. Mechanics: The flat 6 engine runs very well. The engine was rebuilt during the restoration. It appears that it had never been opened before, as it was still at its original specifications when they opened it. The gearbox had already been rebuilt by the previous owner. The overall performance of the car is very pleasant and reassuring. Before the sale, the seller plans to have the car serviced and the carburettors cleaned. Undercarriage: The undercarriage of the car is in very good condition. It is in a state similar to when it came out of restoration.
