History
The latest development in the Big Healey line, the 3000 Mark III BJ8 (1964–1967) is the most refined and comfortable version of the Austin-Healey 3000, with its wood-veneer dashboard and traditional side windows. It remains one of the favourites amongst enthusiasts of classic British roadsters to this day.
This particular car was built in early June 1964 and shipped new to the United States (Jacksonville, Florida) as a left-hand-drive model, as attested by the certificate from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust held in the file. Originally painted in Colorado Red with black upholstery and soft top, it has since been repainted in British Racing Green. It arrived in France and was acquired by its current owner in March 2017, who has since had it serviced and restored in Saint-Jean-de-Védas (34).

This Austin-Healey 3000 BJ8 is in excellent condition.
🚘The bodywork, repainted in British Racing Green, is uniform and glossy. The chrome-spoked wheels and exterior chrome fittings (bumpers, door handles) are in good condition. The black soft top was replaced with a new one in 2025.
The interior is upholstered in black imitation leather and is in very fine condition. The dashboard, steering wheel and wooden gear knob are very well preserved, as are the chrome accents throughout the cabin.
⚙️The engine and gearbox have undergone a mechanical restoration, documented with photographs (complete strip-down of the engine block and gearbox). The car has been fitted with new HD8 carburettors, a stainless steel exhaust system and a fast-flow intake. The overdrive has been replaced and is working perfectly.
