History
This Austin Healey 3000 Mk II left the factory in late 1961 and was originally intended for the US market (Florida); it was sold new on 8 January 1962. The car was completely rebuilt in 1999/2000 by Northern Healey to become a long-distance rally car. Boasting exemplary provenance, it holds a certificate from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust. Its current owner purchased it in 2006 in Germany and then imported it to France, where it received its FFVE certificate and a collector’s registration document.

Restoration: Complete rebuild including a new reinforced chassis and alloy body panels (bonnet and boot).
Current specification: Full "Rally" specification with aluminium doors, roll cage, racing seats and seatbelts, alloy fuel tank, twin fuel pumps and front/rear skid plates.
Exterior: Attractive red paintwork. The vehicle features Minilite spoke wheels with central hubs (rare!) and an ‘ex-works’ hardtop with specific ventilation. The side exhaust has been integrated into the bodywork in a manner faithful to the original Works models of the era.
Interior: Cockpit optimised for rallying, complete and
functional Smiths instrumentation, including the navigation equipment required for historic events.
Mechanics: High-performance engine prepared by Dennis Welch (steel crankshaft, Cosworth forged pistons, alloy cylinder head, triple Weber 45 carburettors, lightweight flywheel and reinforced clutch) producing approximately 200 bhp.
Sebring-type gearbox with Tulip ratios and Quaife limited-slip differential. Upgraded braking system (front discs, rear drums with competition pads, dual servo, etc.).
Eligibility and on-board kit:
The vehicle is fully eligible for major historic rallies (Tour Auto, Le Mans Classic, etc.) thanks to its compliant and robust preparation. It has already successfully competed in events such as the 2000 Marathon Rally and the Silvretta.
