Produced in just 369 examples, the Maserati Shamal takes its design cues from the Maserati Biturbo, the brainchild of Marcello Gandini. However, many things were different: twin headlamps, an aggressive front bumper and, of course, those asymmetrical rear wheel arches.
This Shamal left the factory in 1991 and arrived in France in 2003, when the current owner acquired it. So it's been in the same hands for over 20 years! The current owner is a Maserati specialist, so the car has been well looked after. It is important to note that the car has matching numbers.

General state
This body-built coupé, a youngtimer par excellence, is in excellent condition.
External state
The car is very well preserved. The paintwork is original and in very good overall condition, with a bright Maserati red. The wheels and headlights are also in excellent condition.
Interior state
The interior is also very well preserved. The leather bucket seats are in excellent condition. The leathers are tight and without the slightest tear. The carpets and headlining are in very good condition. The leather dashboard and wooden centre console are both in excellent condition. The car is equipped with a superb Maserati clock and air conditioning. All the on-board instrumentation is functional.
Mechanical state
From the outset, the car is fitted with the pilot-controlled suspension developed by Koni for Maserati. Combined with its twin-turbo V8, this makes it a true sports car. Carefully maintained for over 20 years by its owner, this car has benefited from rigorous attention. The owner has indicated that the car will be distributed for sale. The V8 Biturbo performs very well, with plenty of torque and performance. The engine revs up sharply. The Getrag gearbox ensures optimum transmission of power to the rear wheels. The handling of this rare Shamal is excellent. The original tooling is of course available, including the original Maserati hand lamp!
