History
This Mercedes-Benz 280 S was acquired from Pierre Gosselin, a car enthusiast, former president of Formula E and member of the Automobile Club de Monaco. It then underwent a complete restoration in Olivier De Stefano's workshops, at a cost of around €30,000, with supporting invoices available in the "Documents" section. The engine was rebuilt using a new Mercedes-Benz block. The upholstery, carpets and stainless steel exhaust were also redone. The car is now in remarkable condition.

States
General state
This 280 S is now in near-showroom condition, with a level of finish and presentation rarely seen on a W108.
External state
An independent expert assessment confirms the structural quality and overall condition of the car. According to the assessment report dated 9 April 2024, prepared by Stéphane Bonoron, Judicial Expert at the Paris Court of Appeal, the bodywork is described as "sound", with high-quality repainting and very good preservation. No visible signs of corrosion, impact or accident were found. The chrome trim is in very good original condition.
Interior state
The interior is in very good overall condition, largely original and partially restored with care, particularly the leather seats. The whole interior has a consistent and neat appearance, in keeping with the spirit of the model. The trim and woodwork are still in good condition. Only the carpet on the driver's side shows slight signs of wear, which does not affect the overall quality of the presentation.
Mechanical state
The mechanics are in very good working order, with a smooth-running engine, no abnormal noises and oil pressure within the normal range. The recently installed stainless steel exhaust produces a very pleasant sound. The engine block has recently undergone a complete restoration using a new stock engine, adapted for unleaded fuel. The ignition and carburetion are correctly adjusted, the brake assist is effective and the mechanical assembly is sound and consistent with the overall condition of the vehicle. Tyres: The tyres date from 2021 and are in very good condition.
