History
Designed by Paul Bracq, amongst others, the 300 SE W112 was the flagship of the Mercedes-Benz range in the 1960s and the direct predecessor of the current S-Class. The coupé, of which fewer than 2,500 were produced, is distinguished by the absence of B-pillars and door pillars, which gives the cabin an almost panoramic feel, and by a level of equipment that was exceptional for the time: air suspension, power steering, an automatic gearbox, a sunroof and front and rear armrests…
This particular car was first registered on 1 July 1963. Our client purchased it in 2017 from Mercedes Monaco.
The car has undergone a complete restoration. The bodywork was stripped and mounted on a rotisserie for repainting, both inside and out. The running gear was removed and treated; the upholstery, interior, woodwork and instrumentation were refurbished; the mechanics were fully overhauled, including a rebuilt engine; and the air suspension was replaced. A photographic record of the restoration attests to the thoroughness of the work.
Since then, the car has been regularly serviced by a specialist workshop.
