History
Unveiled in 1968 as the successor to the 250 SL, the 280 SL is the most accomplished version of the W113 series. Its M130 inline six-cylinder engine, producing 170 ch, enabled it to deliver remarkable performance for its time whilst retaining the comfort and reliability for which Mercedes-Benz is renowned.

The bodywork presents a very fine overall appearance. The 904 Blue paintwork perfectly highlights the Pagode’s elegant lines, whilst the chrome trim appears well-preserved. The soft top is in good condition and operates smoothly. The original Mercedes-Benz hardtop is also included with the car.
The interior is upholstered in elegant light beige leather that complements the exterior colour. The seats, door panels, carpets and trim all display a fine level of consistency. The dashboard retains its original instrumentation and classic car radio, contributing fully to the model’s authentic ambience.
Mechanically, this 280 SL retains its original straight-six engine and automatic gearbox. The engine starts perfectly, whether cold or warm. It runs smoothly and evenly, with no abnormal mechanical noise or excessive vibration. When starting and whilst running, no suspicious smoke is observed from the exhaust.
