History
The Peugeot 205 GTI, launched in March 1984, quickly became an icon among the "GTIs" of the 1980s, initially with its 1.6-litre engine producing 105 horsepower. Designed to rival the Golf GTI, it won fans over with its efficiency, lightness and sharp handling. In 1986, the 1.6-litre version was upgraded to 115 hp, and the CTI convertible made its debut. The real turning point came in 1987 with the arrival of the 130 hp 1.9-litre model, which was more powerful and featured enhanced equipment.
Of Swiss origin, this example was originally fitted with a catalysed engine producing 122 hp to meet local standards of the time. However, during work carried out by the previous owner, a Swiss mechanic specialising in the 205 GTI, the engine was brought into line with French specifications, now producing the original 130 hp.
The car was imported into France in early 2025 by its current owner, a collector.

This car is in excellent overall condition.
🚘 The bodywork is in very good condition and sound (no signs of rust). A high-quality full repaint was carried out in 2025, followed by a full polish to protect the paintwork and restore the original colour’s shine (Dark Graphite Grey Metallic). The alloy wheels have also been repainted and are in excellent condition. This model is fitted with a sunroof and lightly tinted windows.
The interior is in near-new condition. The upholstery was reupholstered last year in its original configuration. The original three-spoke steering wheel has also been refurbished. The dashboard is free from cracks. The instrument panel is fully functional.
The engine has been cleaned and all wear parts replaced. The car starts and runs perfectly. There are no leaks to report. The manual gearbox shifts smoothly. The road holding is excellent.
The timing belt was replaced in 2024 at 170,000 km and the tyres in 2025.
Please note that the rear axle has been replaced with that of a 205 GTI 1.6 and is therefore fitted with drum brakes rather than disc brakes. For information, a new 1.9 rear axle costs between €1,400 and €1,900.

Cette 205 est déjà immatriculée en carte grise française donc aucun malus n'est à prévoir. La commission CarJager est calculée automatiquement lorsque vous déposez une enchère. Celle-ci est de 4,8 % TTC du prix final.
