History
Unveiled in 1971, the Mercedes-Benz 450 SL (R107) was the brand’s top-of-the-range roadster in the 1970s. Its 4.5-litre V8 engine, elegant styling and comfort have made it one of the most sought-after classic Mercedes models amongst collectors, particularly in the United States.
This particular car was first registered on 14 March 1973 in California. The Histovec report (April 2023) indicates several changes of ownership with no objections, liens or reports of theft. It underwent an insurance valuation in September 2018, which described it as being in very good condition. This is the second time we have sold this car. The current owner acquired it in August 2023 through our services. Maintenance records are documented from 2015 to 2026 by several local garages: S.A.V.I.A. and Techstar Ouest (Mercedes-Benz network), followed by garages in the Bouches-du-Rhône department.

General state
This Mercedes-Benz 450 SL is in excellent condition.
🚘The bodywork is painted sage green and appears uniform in the photographs. The chrome trim and the boot star are shiny. The vehicle comes with a hardtop, the seal on which has been adjusted.
In April 2024, the front left door, the front right, rear right and rear left wings, and the soft-top strut were repainted, and the hardtop seal was replaced. The car comes with its hardtop.
The interior is fitted with cognac-coloured leather upholstery featuring vertical stitching, with matching headrests; it is well-preserved and looks well-maintained. The owner informs us that the clock has been disconnected so as not to drain the battery when the car is stationary.
⚙️The V8 engine underwent a service in December 2025. In 2021, the car also underwent a full service at a Mercedes-Benz dealership. The cooling system has been cleaned and the four A-arm bushings have been replaced with genuine Mercedes parts. The car runs smoothly and the automatic gearbox is functioning perfectly.
